About

bigBANG! began with a simple purpose:

To convene those who believe that social innovation lies at the heart of an equitable society.

Our History

Founded in 2009, bigBANG! has grown to become the foremost social impact conference in North Texas with a focus on transformative dialogue, education and action. Held each fall, bigBANG! is driven by intentionality and a belief in shining a light on the inequities that are prevalent in our society. bigBANG! has centered around themes such as Equity in Action, Inclusive Economies, Investing in Change, Resilience & Economic Mobility covering topics that include racial, gender, and economic equity; wealth inequality; the wage gap; workforce; education; transportation; housing; immigration; and the environment – all of which are entrenched in systems of racism, oppression, and inequity that we have a responsibility to change.

Attendees include C-Suite executives of Fortune 100 companies, nonprofit CEO’s, government officials, entrepreneurs, investors, renowned philanthropists, social justice leaders, City personnel, emerging influencers, and students expanding their horizons.

Our Impact

bigBANG! has launched and helped sustain social entrepreneurs and social enterprises. For-profit-for-good startup organizations have pitched at bigBANG! with winners selected by the audience. Over $500,000 has been distributed with multiple concepts launched and significant capital raised from impact investors as a result of exposure at bigBANG!

At bigBANG! Chad Houser pitched his restaurant concept for Café Momentum and won not only seed funding, but pro-bono consulting services, board members, and donors which helped him launch the brick-and-mortar restaurant in downtown Dallas. For the last several years, Café Momentum has returned to bigBANG! to cater the lunch at the conference, winning more support from new donors and clients for the restaurant.
